How language is handled
- The recruiter sets the interview language. There is a workspace default, and it can be overridden for a role or a single invitation.
- A candidate cannot change the language themselves. They can ask for a different one, and the recruiter decides — the request and the decision are recorded on the invitation.
- Questions are asked in the chosen language, including client must-ask questions, which are translated once and then reviewed by the agency before use.
- The assessment stores the original-language answer and the English rendering side by side, so nothing is judged only on a translation.
- Language fluency is never scored unless the role explicitly requires it, in which case it appears as its own requirement.
- Beta languages carry a visible label and require a reviewer to confirm the evidence before the brief is shared with a client.
What a reviewer sees
An interview held in Mandarin appears with the original answer and the English rendering side by side, and the assessment is labelled with the language it was conducted in.

Translation is a fairness risk, not just a feature. Evidence is always stored in the language it was spoken in, so a reviewer can go back to the original if a translated phrase looks weaker than it was.
